The Mission Ireland team has finally arrived in Enniscorthy. Thanks to Hurricane Arthur, we had a lengthy delay in Philadelphia. Turns out, Philly is a wonderful place to celebrate the 4th of July. Who would have known? We spent the day visiting important historical sites, including the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. Independence Hall is the site where delegates from each colony debated and approved the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Taking unplanned time to recall the sacrifice and work of many men in the establishment of our nation was wonderful. We also had quite a bit of fun, and ate some delicious ice cream at the Franklin Fountain, an old school style soda fountain. The next day was spent visiting the Rocky Steps, and enjoying a lovely walk through Philadelphia's Cultural District.
Though we all would have preferred to go on to Ireland without incident, we made the best of the situation. Our eventual flight to Dublin went well, and we arrived to find all our luggage waiting for us! We made it to Ennniscorthy safe and sound, and spent today (Sunday) setting up for camp. We are all excited to meet our campers tomorrow, and are eager to spend the week with them teaching them about and showing them the nature of Jesus.
Our theme for the week is Nothing Is Impossible, focusing on the greatness of our God, and His ability to overcome anything, including the grave.
Please be praying with and for us as we begin the week. We are all exhausted, having spent a sleepless night on the plane. Pray we rest well tonight, and wake feeling refreshed and ready to go! We're ready to jump in and love on the kiddos.
Thank you all, and be looking for more posts later this week!
